On 7 July 2001 the remains of Cesare Pavese were transferred to the cemetery of Santo Stefano Belbo, with the consent of the relatives (the nieces Maria Luisa and Cesarina Sini). The gravestone under which the writer is resting is made of Langa stone and reads “I gave poetry to mankind”.
