The Castle Anguilla mentions in the novel The Moon And The Bonfires is the Medieval castle that overlooked the historical centre of Santo Stefano Belbo. It was built in the 13th century by the marquises of Busca, widening an existing building raised on the site of a former 6th-century fortification. The present ruins are the only remains of the castle tower, which was about 25 m high.
