The tower

“The Knight was the son of the old Knight, who once was the owner of the lands of the Castle and of the various mills and had even made a dam in the Belbo when I hadn’t been born, yet… From the square you could even see the little hill where he had his property, beyond the roof of the town hall, an ill-kept vineyard, full of grass, and above, against the sky, a tuft of pines and reeds”. These are the plots of land surrounding the ruins of an old Medieval castle, just above the historical centre of the village, of which only the tower dominating Santo Stefano Belbo is left.
