The Mora farm

The Mora is the large farmhouse where Anguilla worked as a servant after spending his childhood at the Gaminella lodge

“The Mora was like the world… like America. People coming and going, working and talking…”

In this microcosm, the master’s family lived together with several servants and day labourers. Food was never missing, as well as crops, which abounded on its properties. Compared to Anguilla’s life at the lodge, the relative wealth of the masters is evident.

The farmhouse still exists, at the foot of the Salto hill on the road to Canelli, just after Nuto’s workshop-house.
